As the lead for the IAB’s (Interactive Advertising Bureau) New Canaan resident Susan Borst recently moderated a panel titled How All Brands Can Win with Game Advertising, featuring speakers from Facebook, Nielsen and Twitch.
“The IAB Game Committee is the only industry organization dedicated to the advancement of game advertising for all audience demographics,” said Borst. “The committee works to dispel prevailing myths about the nature of gamers and gaming with the goal of attracting more brand marketers to this medium which has proven value and scale for all demographics and across all channels.”
During the panel session, Nielsen shared some new data from a report to be published in April that shows that men don’t dominate video games as much as you might think.

This year, President Obama was the festival’s keynote speaker. According to , the President called on the SXSW audience, and the tech industry at-large, to solve the nation’s biggest problems by working in conjunction with the United States government.
“It’s not enough to focus on the cool, next big thing,” Obama said. “It’s harnessing the cool, next big thing to help people in this country.”
