Chef Silvia Baldini, founder of the New Canaan-based culinary group Strawberry and Sage, will compete on Chopped Champion, the Food Network’s hit series.
Baldini won on Chopped last year, collecting $10,000, making her eligible for another appearance, this time vying for $50,000 in prize money.
On April 19 at 10 p.m., Baldini will be one of 16 returning champions chosen to battle it out for a chance to earn the Chopped Champion title and $50,000. Four preliminary rounds will determine who gets a spot in the finale. But only one chef from among the four finalists will be named the winner.
No stranger to the Chopped kitchen, Baldini has come a long way since her appearance in 2015. She has been growing Strawberry and Sage, which combines the passion and skills from her previous advertising world and her new career as a trained chef. She has been busy working on several culinary projects, including a branding and advertising assignment to develop a concept for a new wine venture by chef Henry Meer, former owner of City Hall restaurant in Tribeca.
Baldini is also writing her first cook book based on her style and way of cooking, something she describes as comfort chic food, and working on a series of cooking videos for various publications, and making appearances on TV shows such as CTSTLYLE.
Baldini is proud and excited to be back in the Chopped kitchen and to be one of only 16 chefs chosen by Food Network, among more than 250 previous chef winners, to compete for the title of Chopped Champion.
