New Canaan police officer Scott Romano who has served the New Canaan Police Department for 20 years was promoted to sergeant at an Aug. 30 Board of Police Commissioners special meeting.
Romano has been assigned to various positions including dispatcher, acting sergeant, motorcycle operator, and field training officer. He is also a member of the Department’s Special Response Team and a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
He has earned commendations for exceptional performance of his duties as well as three medical service awards, a physical fitness award, and the department’s Perkin award for marksmanship.
Roman earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Sacred Heart University.
