A New Canaan college student is about to serve a two-year service mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Grayson Kane, a 2016 New Canaan High School graduate, will be working with people who speak Haitian Creole.
He will enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah on July 5 for six weeks of language training before his service.
Kane, the second of four children, moved to New Canaan from Weston in 2014. At New Canaan High School he was on the ski team and in the chamber orchestra. He recently completed his freshman year at Brigham Young University, where he is planning to major in biology.
Grayson gave his farewell remarks June 25 to the New Canaan congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on South Avenue.
