The New Canaan Land Trust announced receipt of a 2.29-acre gift visible along Turner Hill Road from Scott and Karen Amero. Former longtime residents of New Canaan, the Ameros share a deep interest in conservation and a fondness for the beautiful natural environment and open spaces of New Canaan.
The Scott and Karen Amero Sanctuary includes an ecologically sensitive waterfall segment of Poorhouse Brook that runs down to the Silvermine River, as well as a wildlife corridor, mature woodlands and a characteristic stone wall.
