In an effort to expand their fundraising capacity and reinvigorate their brand image, the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC) welcomed a new director of Institutional Advancement, Irene Seguin, MS. This newly developed position will oversee CGC’s Development Department.

Prior to joining CGC, Seguin spent three years as the vice president of donor development at the United Way of Western Connecticut, where she was responsible for all non-workplace development, events, and community engagement. The 10 years preceding that, she held consecutive positions as director of development at the Storm King, Marvelwood, and Forman Schools— three schools for children with special educational needs and learning disabilities.

“As state budgets and funding from United Ways continue to decrease, it is imperative to the survival of non-profits like CGC to be more strategic in our fundraising and marketing efforts,” said CGC’s President and CEO Eliot Brenner, PhD.

If you are interested in partnering with CGC in hosting a fundraising event, or would like to become an advocate for our agency, contact Seguin at irene.seguin@childguidacenct.org or 203-517-3357.

Established in 1954, CGC is dedicated to improving the mental and behavioral health of children and teens through treatment, education, and community support. CGC serves children, from birth to 18, in New Canaan, Stamford, Greenwich, and Darien. If you would like to get help for a child or learn more about CGC’s mental health services, please call CGC at (203) 324-6127 or visit childguidancect.org.
