The South School PTC welcomed Alyssa Satin Capucilli, children’s author of the Biscuit series and many other titles, to South School in New Canaan, on Oct. 26. She visited with the kindergarten and first grade classes and talked with students about what it’s like to be an author, how ideas are turned into a story, and the steps involved with publishing a real book.
She shared that a lot of her inspiration comes from her own children. In fact, the idea of Biscuit came from her daughter, Lauren, when she was puppy-sitting their neighbor’s dog. Alyssa read, signed books and answered questions, and the students left inspired to read, write and imagine.
