The Rotary Club of New Canaan welcomed Adam Jasinski, the executive director of the HALO Trust U.S., the U.S. arm of the Scotland-based demining nonprofit made famous by Princess Diana’s visit with HALO to Angola in 1997, to its meeting on Thursday, July 21. The U.S. office of the HALO Trust is located in Washington, DC, due to their close relationship with government agencies including the State Department. Jasinski traveled to New York to meet with HALO’s partners at The United Nations and joined the Rotary Club of New Canaan to provide updates on current activities of HALO and to thank the Club for many years of financial support.
Funds for grants made by The Rotary Club of New Canaan to HALO and other local nonprofits come from the annual LobsterFest, which this year will be held on the property of the Historical Society on September 23 and 24.
