Barbara Wilson
Barbara Wilson of New Canaan, LLA, ASLA, a senior landscape architect with Rock Spring Design Group, LLC , was appointed by the board of selectmen, in September, to a two-year term on the Town of New Canaan Inland Wetlands Commission as a full commissioner.
The commission is made up of seven full commissioners and three alternates. Currently there are several vacancies on the commission.
Wilson has more than 21 years of experience as a licensed landscape architect. As part of her professional work, she has provided numerous inland wetland applications for clients throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties, as well as designs for landscapes for residential, corporate and institutional properties.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College with a concentration in botany and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Massachusetts. She is licensed in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. Before moving to New Canaan, she lived in Middletown, where she served on the Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Agency for three years as an alternate and then a full member for four years. She has been involved in the Connecticut Chapter of Landscape Architects as a member of the executive board from 1995 through 1998.
