Paul W. Reiss and Gwen North Reiss of New Canaan announce the engagement of their daughter, Eliza North Reiss, to Michael John Grant.
Miss Reiss is a fourth-year veterinary student at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. A 2006 graduate of New Canaan High School, she received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Haverford College in 2010. She was a co-captain of the New Canaan High School girl’s track and field team and continued to run at Haverford, where she was a track team co-captain her senior year. She was named a member of the 2010 All-Academic women’s track and field team by the NCAA.
Her fiancé is the son of Mick and Deana Grant of Haverhill, Mass. He graduated from St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Mass., and was a 2007 graduate of Haverford College, where he majored in urban studies. He ran for the Haverford men’s track and cross country teams and was also named an Academic All-American in track and field by the NCAA. He is an MBA candidate at New York University’s Stern School of Business and plans to join EMC, a data management company in Hopkinton, Mass., later this year.
The wedding will take place in the late summer of 2014.
