“I am running for state representative because it is time for change in Hartford, and we need to be better,” Dathan said Monday. “I have the professional background to bring a fresh perspective and help resolve the tough issues. I have spent my working life helping companies succeed in today’s economy and will do the same for our district. Connecticut has too much at stake now for more of the same.”

Said Norwalk Mayor Rilling: “I am supporting Lucy Dathan because her values and professional background in finance will make her an exceptional state representative for Norwalk and New Canaan. “She is dedicated to addressing our transportation issues, helping fix our budget crisis, and growing our economy. Lucy would make an excellent partner to work with our administration on the state level and I look forward to helping her get elected in November.”

New Canaan Board of Selectman member Kit Devereaux said, “New Canaan and Norwalk are great places to live, and in speaking with Lucy, I am confident that she has the vision to continue to build on what already makes our communities great. She will be a fearless advocate for our values in Hartford and has the drive and determination to deliver. I would be honored to have her serve as our next state representative.”

Dathan’s professional career has spanned 25 years, largely working in finance but across many sectors. She started out as an auditor in a Big 4 Accounting firm in Silicon Valley and qualifying as a Certified Public Accountant, moving to Poland just as it was opening up to western markets and then spending over 10 years based in London broadening her experience in investment banking, raising finance and as a start-up CFO in European firms. Since moving back to the U.S. over 12 years ago, she has continued to work part-time alongside raising a family as a CFO in Silicon Valley technology based start-ups, building finance functions, creating strategic long-term budgets, overseeing financing rounds, mergers & acquisitions, sales and liquidations.

Dathan lives with her husband and their three children.
