New Canaan: Local kids took home top prizes in the 1st annual Gate’s Restaurant Coloring Contest held recently at the restaurant.
New Canaan Selectman Robert Mallozzi awarded prizes to winners, in the 4-7-year-old category, top honors to Mark, second place to Owen, and third place to Graham.
In the 8-100-year-old category, first place winner was Sophie, followed by sisters, Rachel, in second, and Samantha, in third place. Judges artist Heidi Coleman and graphic artist Michael Woodside looked at 240 entries.
The contestants ranged in age from four to 84. The winning works will be displayed at Gates Restaurant on Forest Street throughout the year.
