Dr. Matthew Brian Cantlon, son of Angelica and Edward Cantlon of New Canaan, was married to Terresa Chen, daughter of Candice and Edward Chen of Taipei, Taiwan, at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. The Rev. Christopher Tate, brother-in-law of the groom, officiated the ceremony.
The best man was Dr. D. Tyler Coyle of Silver Spring, Md. Other groomsmen were Alan Maguire, Dan O’Connor, Michael Santulli, Dana Pasternak, Max Jaeger, Evan Gilbert, and Tim Altier. Henry and Charlie tate, nephews of the groom, served as ring bearers.
The maid of honor was Emily Chiang of Hong Kong, China. Other bridesmaids were Charwei Tsai, Brenda Chen, Sabrina Finlay, Tina Lin, Shiaojair King, Coco Pai, and May Yoon.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of New Canaan High School. He attended Cornell University and graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and chemical engineering and holds a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a fourth year resident in orthopaedic surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
The bride is a 1998 graduate from Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, Calif. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Japanese studies from Wellesley College and a master’s degree from Columbia Business School, with a concentration in marketing. She is a project manager at NYC and Company in Manhattan.
A second wedding ceremony was held at Le Meridien in Taipei, Taiwan, in November.
The couple honeymooned in the Maldives and reside in New York City.
