Grace Farms director trains Haitians on fighting sex trade

Rod Khattabi, director of Safety and Justice Initiative advisor at Grace Farms Foundation in New Canaan, led free training for Haitian police, prosecutors, lawyers, victim service providers, and law students in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, about enforcement of the U.S. laws pertaining to child sex tourism in foreign countries. The June 4 event at Collège Canado-Haïtien attracted 223 attendees.

The training was organized by Éloquence Club de Plaidoirie, a not-for-profit socio-academic structure composed of legal professionals and social and human sciences students, and Grace Farms Foundation, a not-for-profit organization in New Canaan whose Justice Initiative focuses on the eradication of human trafficking.

At Grace Farms Khattabi advises and trains federal, state and local law enforcement in combating human trafficking and illegal wildlife trade on local, national and global level. In addition, Khattabi develops and facilitates educational programming geared toward awareness and prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault. Prior to joining Grace Farms Foundation, Khattabi oversaw the New Haven office of the Department of Homeland Security.
