Magical Music for Life Foundation is thrilled to present its 6th annual Tunes in Times Square free benefit concert Sunday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Broadway between 46th & 47th Streets in Times Square. Talented children and groups from six states will come together to share the same stage with over 50 Broadway performers from most of the current shows and many past shows. This year there will be local singers, The Studio, New Canaan Dance Academy, and the Magical Music singing groups representing New Canaan in support of this event.

Some of the highlights for the day in addition to the Broadway performances include: performance by A Bronx Tale, excerpts from The Adventures of Zak, and Mary Poppins’ “Janes” and “Michaels” teaching the audience the choreography for “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

May is water safety month and with drowning being a major cause of death and injury for young children, and Magical Music is excited to debut some of their new water songs at this May event in Times Square.

Magical Music for Life, founded in 1999, is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to better the lives of children through the impactful and extraordinary power of music. They accomplish this by developing and producing a wide range of musical projects that deliver positive, inspirational, and educational messages to children and their families. Through their songs, performances, and projects their goal is to engage children and transform the way they understand themselves, others, and the world around them.

The goal of this year’s concert is to raise financial support to complete production of a new original album of songs for water safety applicable to children with and without specials needs, awareness of their music, and funds to continue their community outreach and performance of their musical written especially for children with autism and other special needs.

The community is urged to support these local performers by coming to the event, making a donation in the name of a performer, or placing a bid at the online auction. There is no charge for attending this open air concert. The online auction is now open at https://www.biddingforgood.com/TunesInTimesSquare and will be finished with a silent auction at the event along with a raffle. Auction items include tickets to Broadway shows (including hard-to-get Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen) and other events often with backstage tours and/or signed memorabilia, travel, dining, unique & autographed items, etc.

To learn more about the event or make a donation, go to Magical Music for Life’s website, www.magicalmusic.org.
