A refreshing ‘No’
Even with the Vine Cottage in need of repairs there was something heartening when the Town Council said ‘No’ to the proposal to spend a half-million dollars on those repairs and renovations. As they say in the peanut gallery, a half-million here and a half-million there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money.

Word is that with the New Canaan Winter Club the controlling tenant at the Darien Ice House, ice times have improved for those north of the Merritt, and some Darien teams have left for the temporary ice in Norwalk.
