The New Canaan Democratic Town Committee has announced the speakers for their monthly non-partisan Speaker Series that will continue on the third Wednesday of the month from February through June.
The talks feature speakers who are noted experts in their fields. All are invited to attend.
The meetings are scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the New Canaan Library Adrian Lamb Room. Wine and cheese is served at 6:30 and lectures begin promptly at 7 p.m.
The next speakers are:
- Feb. 15 – Thomas Niles, served as ambassador to the European Union, assistant secretary of state for Europe and will talk about the “Implications for the EU and NATO of the June 23 UK Referendum and the U.S. Election.”
- March 15 – Donald P. Gregg will talk about the experiences of his life “Lived in the CIA, the White House and the Two Koreas.”
- April 19 – Speaker not yet scheduled.
- May 17 – David Walker served as comptroller general of the United States from 1998-2008. He will speak about U.S. federal, state and local fiscal challenges and how to address them.
- June 21 – Mike Baker: managing director – Americas: Diligence, LLC. Mike will talk about the top crises facing the USA in cyber-security, Syria, ISIS, Iran, Russia, and North Korea.
