Jeff Ulrich will address the New Canaan Men’s Club at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Church. He will give an overview of current drought conditions, Aquarion’s water management plans, and will review the various water saving measures adopted to protect this vital resource. He will also discuss Aquarion’s infrastructures, reservoir conditions, watersheds, and customer distribution systems in Fairfield County.
Ulrich has worked in the water industry for over 25 years. He received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Villanova University and a Masters of Science from Rutgers University. As Aquarion Water Company’s director of supply operations, he oversees a department of 75 people that produces drinking water for over 280,000 people in Connecticut. The department operates 29 reservoirs, 7 water treatment plants, 60 pump stations, 100 wells and 70 water storage tanks.
Roger Langevin, a fellow member of the NCMC, will address the Men’s Club at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27. He will speak on the joys and challenges of collecting baseball cards.
The New Canaan Men’s Club has openings for new members 55 and over. Anyone interested is invited to be a guest at the meeting.
