Eugene and Marianne Conese of New Canaan have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jacqueline Anne, to Matthew Barnett Johnson, son of Michael and Mary Johnson of Montclair, N.J. and Nantucket, Mass.
Ms. Conese graduated from New Canaan High School in 2008 and from Boston University in 2012. She is an account coordinator at The Williams Agency in Cambridge, Mass.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Montclair Kimberly Academy School in Montclair, N.J., in 2008 and from Boston University in 2012. He is a mechanical engineer at R.G. Vanderweil Engineers in Boston.
Both are avid sailors and met while sailing for Boston University. They have sailed together in many races, including the last two Newport Bermuda Races.
A June 2014 wedding is planned in Newport, R.I.
