They say the only bad publicity is no publicity, so New Canaan’s Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe program, is likely delighted having a presidential candidate take the time and effort to hurl Twitter insults at him, his co-host Mika Brzezinski, and the show itself.
Trump started up Monday morning, Aug. 22, tweeting: “Tried watching low-rated @Morning_Joe this morning, unwatchable! @morningmika is off the wall, a neurotic and not very bright mess.”
Scarborough returned Twitter fire as good as he got, defending his co-host, tweeting: “Thanks for watching. Morning Joe is enjoying its best ratings ever thanks to obsessed fans like you.”
Regarding Trump’s opinion of Mika, Scarborough tweeted: “Neurotic and not very bright? Look in the mirror.”
Trump then tweeted back: Some day, when things calm down, I’ll tell the real story of @JoeNBC and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, @morningmika. Two clowns!”
