Society for Arts seeking new director

New Canaan Society for the Arts announced that Valerie Garlick, will be leaving her post as executive director effective Aug. 10.

Garlick will be taking the position of executive director of the Institute Library, in New Haven.

In her letter to the NCSA membership Garlick stated, “I leave my position at the Carriage Barn with no small amount of sadness. The Carriage Barn is an exciting and vibrant resource for New Canaan. I will miss the opportunity to continue to explore the many new and imaginative ways in which this unique structure can and will, in the coming years, add to the richness of the cultural scene in New Canaan.”

NCSA Board President Serena Gillespie stated that “We’re grateful to Valerie for advancing our mission with her creativity, innovation, warmth and hard work. The Board very much enjoyed our collaboration and will miss her.”

The NCSA board of directors is conducting a search and interviewing candidates to fill the position of executive director. For more information contact Gillespie at sgillespie@carriagebarn.org.
