The Stamford 2030 District is accepting applications for its Oct. 5 Change Makers Awards through Aug. 31.

This will be the Stamford 2030 District’s second annual Change Makers Awards, highlighting sustainability and resiliency in the local community. This year applications are being accepted in two categories: Buildings/Tenants and Individual Projects/Demonstrations. Full information on the recognition categories may be found at www.2030districts.org/stamford/annual-change-makers-awards.

While the 2015 awards recognized building owners and innovators in Stamford, the 2016 application invites individuals, businesses and organizations across Fairfield County to participate.

Last year’s winners included Forstone Capital, J.M. Wright Technical High School, The Landis Group, Mill River Park Collaborative, and People Friendly Stamford. All applicants will be recognized on varying levels and receive a complimentary ticket for the cocktail event on Oct. 5, at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. Michael Berkowitz, CEO of the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities, will be the keynote for this event.

Founded in 2014, Stamford 2030 is one of 13 districts across North America working toward specific energy, water and vehicle emission reduction targets by the year 2030. The District runs as a not-for-profit as a partnership between Connecticut Fund for the Environment and The Business Council of Fairfield County. Currently 43 members, including local building owners/managers, professional and community stakeholders, make up the District with participating buildings making up over 14 million square feet of commercial and multifamily buildings in Stamford.
