Governor Malloy recently announced two appointments to lead the DMV and move it forward. Michael R. Bzdyra of Wallingford has been appointed to serve as Commissioner of the agency and Judeen Wrinn of Middletown has been named Deputy Commissioner.
“These choices address my concern on the need for new leadership at the DMV, the agency with the most public interaction,” said Senator Toni Boucher. “By moving Mr. Bzdyra from Deputy Commissioner to Commissioner, the Governor is keeping a stabilizing voice at the helm. Mr. Bzdyra has a wealth of knowledge on the issues facing the agency.”
“Just as importantly, the Governor named a private sector executive, former COO of Voya Financial, Inc. Judeen Wrinn as Deputy Commissioner. Having directed the operations of a company with thousands of employees, she possesses the knowledge and experience needed to run a large organization, as well as the technical skills necessary to fix the issues at the DMV.”
“Wrinn shared an amazing story at the press conference this morning. It was about going into a large organization that was having huge technical issues implementing a new system. Customers were furious and wait times were outrageous. Sound familiar?”
“At that organization, she put an internal team together, got to work, and solved the problems. This is exactly the type of person the DMV desperately needs.”
“Commissioner Bzdyra and Deputy Commissioner Wrinn have a big task ahead of them. I look forward to the public’s reaction to the future changes implemented by this new leadership team. The DMV’s customers will in the best position to evaluate the success of their efforts.”
