Ben Manning, son of former New Canaan residents Richard and Rochelle Manning, recently returned from serving two years in the Las Vegas West mission as a volunteer missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Manning is a 2010 graduate of New Canaan High School, where he was active in football and received awards for his work in photography. He will speak about his experiences as a missionary Sunday, Dec. 22, at 9, at the Latter-day Saint Church, 682 South Ave. The community is welcome to attend.
An open house welcoming him home will be held at the Edwards home, 146 Old Studio Road, that afternoon from 3-5, for friends.
During his time in the Las Vegas area, Manning lived and worked with residents of the area. He had numerous opportunities to provide service in the community and to teach the gospel, as well as leading local missionaries and congregations of the LDS Church.
Manning will continue his studies at Brigham Young University, majoring in photography and business.
