Seventh grader Charlotte Mayer recently had the honor of interviewing the president and CEO of the World Wildlife Fund Carter Roberts. The interview, which is featured in the Winter 2015 World Wildlife Magazine, covered a broad range of topics including Mr. Roberts’ favorite animals, his family and what people can do to help the environment. Charlotte told Mr. Carter about the moment when she first realized she was a nature lover and about a company she started selling environmentally friendly bath products with a friend.
Last year, Charlotte prepared a speech for her sixth grade public speaking project about endangered animals. The speech was passed on to Mr. Roberts through a family friend. Impressed by her speech, he asked her to visit WWF headquarters in Washington D.C. and interview him for the organization’s magazine. Mr. Roberts also had some encouraging words to say about her toward the end of his “President’s Letter.”
