It doesn’t look like Brian Williams will be regaining the anchor desk chair at NBC Nightly News once his six-month suspension ends soon. Both the New York Post and CNN have reported that Lester Holt, his ‘temporary’ replacement, will be taking the job full time.
Williams, a longtime New Canaan resident, was suspended for six months after fabricating details of his Iraq War coverage. He has also been unavailable for public comment, as NBC has told him to keep a low profile.
According to CNN, negotiations between NBC executives and Williams’ representatives are focused on two potential paths: a new role for Williams, or an exit from the network.
