In February, New Canaan resident Emily Kelting climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, which at 19,340 feet is the tallest mountain in Africa. She will present a free slideshow/lecture about her experience Wednesday, May 28, at 2 at Lapham Center. The event is sponsored by Staying Put in New Canaan.

Kelting will describe the summit day, which included a blizzard that raged (with 40 mph winds) for nine hours, among other details of the seven-day adventure — such as passing through five ecosystems during the two-day descent.
