Genealogist Toni McKeen returns to the New Canaan Library Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 2 p.m. for a workshop in the library’s Adrian Lamb Room.
McKeen will discuss what motivated mass emigration, what it was like to get to the port and to travel across the ocean. Attendees will see examples of health inspection cards, telegrams, and other documents involved in the immigration process. This lecture is intended to help connect with the past and gain a better understand of how immigration records are organized and accessed.
McKeen has taught genealogy courses for the last 14 years in her hometown of Ridgefield, as well as in Redding, Bronxville, N.Y. and Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Those who plan to attend are asked to register at newcanaanlibrary.org.
