New Canaan Men’s Club talk Thursday with Lincoln Millstein

Lincoln Millstein visits with the The New Canaan Men’s Club’s at their next meeting, this Friday, Feb, 8, 2019.

Lincoln Millstein, special adviser to the CEO of Hearst, will address the New Canaan Men’s Club in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Church, Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. The title of his presentation is Inside the Turbulent World of Newspapers. He will discuss the state of newspapers in this era of fake news, social and “lame stream media,” said the club’s announcement.

Millstein is recognized as a digital pioneer in the newspaper industry. He co-founded Boston.com for the Boston Globe in 1995 and ran it for five years before moving to New York as executive vice president of New York Times Digital.

After joining Hearst, he spearheaded numerous industry initiatives including the Newspaper Consortium with Yahoo!, the creation of the first industry private exchange, quadrantONE and of industry retail joint venture Wanderful Media in 2012.

In 2016, Millstein took on the additional responsibility as acting CEO of Hearst Autos, bringing together the company’s industry-leading automotive media businesses (Car and Driver, Road&Track, Jumpstart, and Veretech holdings) into one dedicated, full-service division.

He retired from Hearst as senior vice president and special assistant to the CEO, a position he held for five years.
